International Perfume Museum
Founded in Grasse in 1989, the International Perfume Museum is one-of-a-kind.
At the heart of the emblematic world capital of perfume, the museum traces the history of the perfume industry, presenting the savoir-faire of the great perfume houses that have contributed to the fame and fortune of the town.
The museum offers an insight into the mysteries of perfume and the perfume-making industry, an exploration of the factories, the trade and the raw materials used in the manufacture of fragrances that continue to delight connaisseurs the world over. The museum is accredited "Musée de France".
Eugène Fuchs founded the Maison Fragonard in 1926 in the centre of Grasse. It is one of the town's oldest perfumeries. Its name is a tribute to the illustrious 18th century painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard who was born there.
Now an institution, the historic Fragonard factory offers free guided tours to visitors who discover the creative and manufacturing processes of perfume-making and 3000 years of perfume history in the private museum.
A family enterprise created in 1849 in Grasse, the Maison Molinard invites the visitor on an olfactory tour of its expertise in the perfume business.
